When Aym lands back on the ground, this is a good opportunity to get some swings in.Īym will also utilize the same targeted spikes attack that Baal used in the previous fight. This attack is usually performed in threes. ![]() Aym will periodically float in the air and shoot out small circles of projectiles towards your location. Without any time to recover, Aym will enter the fight immediately following Baal's death.Īym can teleport quickly around the arena, and utilizes more projectile-based attacks as opposed to melee. Baal will drop a Soul Heart on the ground that you can pick up. Utilize the moments after Baal has unleashed its various attacks to get some swings in of your own. Thankfully, they aren't too difficult and you should be able to make quick work of both. Run away from the targets as large spikes will emerge from the ground, causing serious damage if you get struck.īaal will also float into the air and summon a couple cultists to fight by its side during the encounter. After a short moment, a number of red targets will appear on the ground, either in two intersecting straight lines, or a cluster in front of Baal that will seek your location. This attack is easily avoided by simply running away, or dodge rolling at the last moment.Īnother attack to watch out for is when Baal kneels down to pray. This enemy wields a long wooden pole with a set of spears on the end.īaal will roam the arena swinging its weapon around and slamming it on the ground in an effort to attack you. If you refuse the sacrifice, The One Who Waits will become angry (duh) and you'll be forced to face his two minions: Baal and Aym.Īfter refusing The One Who Waits' request to be sacrificed, you'll be forced to fight his first henchman, Baal. After the credits, your most recent save will be loaded and you'll need to unlock The Gateway and approach The One Who Waits once more. If you accept the sacrifice, your Cult leader will be killed before The One Who Waits and the credits will roll. When you reach The One Who Waits, it will ask you a simple question: will you kneel before it and sacrifice yourself, or refuse? Grab whatever suits your playstyle, and press forward towards The One Who Waits. When you arrive, you'll be presented with three random weapons and three random curses. By this point in the game, Followers should be doled out to you at a regular cadence, and if you're missing any you should do some quick Crusade runs through Darkwood or purchase some more from Helob.Īfter The Gateway has been unlocked, you'll be teleported inside. ![]() To unlock The Gateway, you'll need to have amassed 20 Followers. Instead, it's the prison for The One Who Waits, the ominous presence that spared you at the beginning of the game, and has continued singing your praises as you methodically took down each of its brethren. The Gateway is a unique area in that you won't be going on any Crusade runs once it's unlocked.
